Prince' molybdobulos of the XII c. the south of Kiev region

Victoria Bulgakovà
Affinity of a seal to Prince David Rostislavych sphragistics becames a feature determining in an establishment of probable chronological period of molibdovul's usage also as for inidentifying of possible owner. The imprint on Snetynka's molybdobulos reverse is an accordiance with Christian name of Prince. This fact, as an already mentioned similarity of design (which implies it's belonging to the House of Prince) makes possible to reduce search area only to number of his sons. Probably, it might be an owners patronymic. Another argument of such thesis is a belonging of the majority of combinatory varied seales of Borysoglebsk type to owners from princes of Smolensk branch of The Monomakh's, whose representative was David Rostislavych (during the times of Ancient Rus state, Smolensk was one of the main center of St. Borys and Gleb cult) [Yanin, 1970, p. 92].

"Polyane" of chronicles: the myth or a reality?
V. Petrashenkî
Summing up reseachers on problem of polyanian location according to archaelogical data, might be fixed the belonging to them of Sahnov-Volyntzev monuments from Mid Dnepper territories, which genetic connection with Praha culture is quite taken for granted. But, in accordance with those monuments, boarders of polyanian territory may be pointed out only in general, because of wide forthcoming investigation of them.

Early stages of annalistic "severyane" culture
Î. Sukhobokov
V.A. Petrashenko's affort to determind an archaelogical baze of polyanian monuments is quite understandable and worth an attention <...>. But, excessive been carried away by speculative constractions <...> suggestes the idea about certain polyanian "shovinism", which was founded from Nestorus-chronicler ("…polyane are clever enough"), another one's are "living by bestial mode of life" and about attaching to polyane, in any case, of civilizing mission...
